Methodological Guideline for the implementation of adapted Dual VET at European level

The Adapted Dual VET (ADVET) is a professional training model developed in the autonomous region of the Balearic Islands (Spain) in 2015 by the organisation AMADIP-ESMENT. It is currently implemented in two Spanish regions: Balearic Islands and Galicia. It is focused to people with intellectual disabilities over 16 years of age and has the objective of increasing their opportunities to access the labour market. The DUAL-Ad project aims to establish a European cooperation partnership, to transfer the ADVET to other European regions and to develop a common implementation framework at the European level. This document contains the methodological guidelines to facilitate the transfer and implementation of the ADVET model at European level. It is structured in 3 sections:

  1. Section 1 describes the main characteristics of the ADVET model as it is currently implemented in Spain.

  2. Section 2 includes experiences and good practices of VET programmes for the labour inclusion of people with intellectual disability, which are implemented in the other European Countries involved in the DUAL-Ad project. These experiences have been selected considering their similarities with the ADVET model, in order to identify common elements which can facilitate the transfer and adaptation of that model to the other European regions of the project.

  3. Section 3 defines a common framework for the implementation of the ADVET model at European level. This framework has been developed by matching the common elements between the ADVET model already implemented in Spain – described in Section 1 – and the programmes for labour inclusion of the other European Countries – identified in Section 2.

These methodological guidelines will be used as a reference to develop a European common curriculum for the training of experts in the implementation of the ADVET model. The curriculum will be tested in a pilot training-of-training session, which will take place in 2024 in the Balearic Islands.
